Gospel Big Band Almere is a Christian
Big Band in Almere - The Netherlands. The band has approx
25 members in a real big band setting - trumpets, bones,
saxes, (bas)guitars, piano, drum and a vocaliste.
The
band plays a mix of classic and modern big band music.
Of course an important part is gospel music. The band
is honoured with the support of Oleg Plotnikov
- the famous Russian jazz pianist who helps the band
with his outstanding compositions. Oleg is together
with Rens Roos one of the two conductors
who lead the band.
The
band is organised in short term project. Each project
consists of eight biweekly rehearsals and a concert.
Gospel
Big Band Almere is hosted by The Salvation army and
as such one of only two Salvation Army Big Bands worldwide.
